HONG KONG: DAY 1. Finally back in my apartment in Singapore. Either caught the worse cold ever, or my allergy is absolutely insane in the membrane today. Since when was it ok for Asia to have temperatures without a 3 as the first digit? I'm layering cardigans, me no likey (so not looking forward to European weather). Anywho, here are the photos from day uno in Hong Kong!
I had an amazing time. It was great to see Daddy and Ba Noi again, and test my new Vietnamese skills. The city is definitely worth visiting, it's very... Interesting. I have mixed feelings as to whether or not I can see myself living there some day. The answer is usually YES!!! when I'm on the 103rd story of the Ritz Carlton sipping chardonnay, enjoying the view from the big Buddha or gobbling ridiculous amounts of sushi with friends. The answer is however NO!!! when random droplets of air conditioners fall on my head when casually strolling through town, and also every time the most grotesque smells punch me in the face, all of which occurs rather frequently in Hong Kong to be honest.
To summarize, I would like Hong Kong is filled with a lot of "hui!", but also a lot of "pfui!". :) day one was spent walking around Tsim Sha Tsui, in the more local parts, so the pictures have more pfui, than hui. Hui will follow tomorrow. :)

The air conditioners on the buildings are responsible for the drip, drip, drip, and these are the only buckets I ever saw in Hong Kong kind enough to catch up the drip. The other times, it was usually my arm, head or shoulders onto which the drip, drip imposed itself. Yum.
So shocked the first time I saw a construction site using bamboo bridges or underpasses, but it's super common in Hong Kong. I thought that was quite funny. :)

Fish head, any takers?
The long day ended with a delicious dinner sans fish head and then well-deserved sleep!
