bsc graduation

BSC GRADUATION. The photos speak for themselves: I'm now an official BSc graduate! It feels good to be able to close that door now, though it's also a wee bit sad and scary all at the same time. But when it comes down to it, it's really nothing more than a piece of paper... That yes, I am going to frame and pretentiously hang up on my wall. :)

weekend in geneve

WEEKEND IN GENEVE. I'll post what little I have, as I didn't take a lot of photos, although we did so much: we went to a house warming party and a fondue-raclette night, so I met all of Laszlos Geneva friends. We also went to the Ethical Fashion Night, cable-cared up to Mt. Saleve, wandered around Geneva city, sat by lake Geneva... It was such an eventful yet relaxing weekend, I loved every minute. ♥ enjoy the photos!

berlin home

BERLIN HOME. A few weeks ago, my little brother Michael drove to Berlin, right after getting his driver's license, to help me buy new furniture, build up everything, and so on. Finally, my room is Berlin is really my room, with my things, and though it's not a lot, since I won't be here all too long, I feel so at home! Thank you Michael!

PS. Flying off to Genf tomorrow for the "weekend", ahem, the weekend that starts Thursday and ends Monday. :-) early happy weekend to everyone, thanks for reading!

september in berlin

SEPTEMBER IN BERLIN. A little recap of my first month in Berlin. So far I am really, really liking it here! The weather is taking a turn for the bad and I've been warned that Berlin's winter is merciless, but I'm still very much enthusiastic about living here. The apartment is so perfect, work is fun most of the time, my gym is great (actually genuinely having fun working out) and the city just has so much to offer! More photos to hopefully come soon, but for now, enjoy and thank you for reading! Happy sunday! :-)

HH: part III

HH: part II. My second last day in Hamburg started off with a big, yummy breakfast - so good! Then we drove through the old Elbtunnel, drove around the Container Hafen area, very impressive and then over the Koehlbrandbruecke, also very impressive, and then huge dinner - SO GOOD!

HH: part II

HH: part II. Excuse the delay. Although work hasn't been all too busy, but I still somehow collapsed into bed horribly exhausted every day for the last week. But finally, the weekend is here, so voila, part II of my two weeks spent in Hamburg! Happy sunday! :)

HH: part I

HH: PART I. I'm baaaaaaack! Currently posting from Berlin, my home for the next 6 months, where I arrived yesterday evening! But before I talk about any of that, it's first time to share my adventures of the last two weeks. After an amazing trip Switzerland-Italy roadtrip, a bittersweet farewell to Rotterdam and a lot of down time in home sweet home Dusseldorf, I ventured on to one of my favorite cities in the whooooole wide world. This called for an abnormal photo-frenzy, so I'll break all the photos down into separate posts, two or more, but probably only two due to laziness. :)

goodbye rotterdam

GOODBYE ROTTERDAM. Although the graduation ceremony is not until November, with all exams over and all grades finalized, it's safe to say I'm finally a BSc graduate! Laszlo and I moved out of our apartment and deregistered at the municipality, so our time in Rotterdam has officially come to an end! The last days were spent with Laszlo, his family, friends, about 10000 calories and amazing weather (for Rotterdam standards) - my kind of goodbye weekend. :)

30 July, 2012

24 hours

24 HOURS. Pit stop in Geneva on the way to Italy, including driving through the never-ending Mont Blanc tunnel. Never has time gone by more slowly nor has traffic ever stood so still - the perfect opportunity to snap some photos on the highway and hike up to the Bossons Glacier - always look on the bright side!

bumble

BUMBLE. Beloved birthday present that lets me pretend it is actually, for real summer time. Time out grey clouds filled to the brim with precipitation (see window, bleh!). Hello sunshine on my head (see sun pictured on bottle, yay!).

07 June, 2012

hover.

Photo taken by Antonia.

HOVER. Return of the hover hand. Unintentional and only existed in a brief state, to my defense - the camera went off to soon, I promise... The hand did end up on the shoulder! Either way, Timo, Felix and I in Schreveningen at the beach. Photo taken a day after my birthday - hence sun and bare legs.

positive things

POSITIVE THINGS. I cannot believe I only posted twice last month. Twice. Not good!! Things have just been so hectic lately, with my thesis threatening to fall apart and the last exams of my undergraduate life around the corner, buuuut finally I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and am so excited to graduate this summer and for all this craziness to be over, words cannot explain! Anyways... Here is what has been going on in my life (apart from uni, uni, uni) lately...

04 June, 2012

21

21. Me on my birthday, soaking up some sun after a long night out... Cannot believe this is less than 2 weeks ago! Over the last week the temperatures have plummeted so far that I (teary-eyed...) had to get my winter jacket out from the back of my closet... Why, mother nature, why?

06 May, 2012

petals

PETALS. I love flower petals cover the street like confetti... But just when I thought Dutch weather would pick up on the fact that it is in fact spring time, daily major downpours decided to have a major comeback. This photo is from one of the prettier days that are hopefully soon to return.

Off to work on my bachelor thesis draft due tomorrow, and my supply chain assignment due tonight, and while we're at it, why not throw in some financial accounting, just for the fun of it... Shoot me now. Oh well, to everyone who actually has a life, which is not me, happy Sunday! :)

KONINGINNEDAG. Queen's day in Amsterdam. After 3 years of living in the Netherlands, it was about time! I have never seen so much orange in my life. :)

NHA TRANG. Home for the weekend so I finaaaaally have a free minute to post these photos of Christmas at the beach with the family: so goooood to be reunited after plus minus 6 months. I enjoyed every minute (hence, zero photos taken, almost all stolen from others :)).

FRIET. Stroll down the Rotterdam market with some yummy verse patat friet, lekker!

BREAKFAST. Monday morning yum yums.
Off to Hamburg tomorrow. Easter weekend starts a few days early. :)

the not so naked chef

THE NOT SO NAKED. Before flying off to Switzerland and the day after getting back, before heading back to Rotterdam, baby brother did as all baby brothers should do and suited up to treat me to some culinary delights. Very excited for Daniel and Michael to visit me this Sunday-Tuesday, have not been together the three of us since Vietnam. But now enough sentimentality, click, click, click below for photos (and cry in envy for your taste buds have missed out).

ZURICH PHOTO DIARY. By far one of the prettiest (yet unfortunately most expensive) European cities I have ever set foot in. The whole day I could not keep the ooohs and ahhhs to myself. :)

in the mountains

IN THE MOUNTAINS. Got back on Sunday from beautiful Switzerland, how surreal is this photo? Thank you so much to my bestest friends for all the wonderful memories. :) the perfect way to unwind after exam period... Got back to Rotterdam this morning and headed straight to university for Supply Chain Management and Financial Accounting, which I can already tell by now both qualify to be my passionate love affair this trimester, not. On the bright side, last trimester of university, here I come! More photos coming soon.

TREE HUGGER. Made a new friend today.

SIBLINGS. AND BLURRY MINI-COUSIN. Photo frenzy coming up soon, am currently getting my hands on Christmas and NYE pictures, vamos Dropbox, hurry up. For now a little sneaky peaky teasi weasi (immature much), more photos coming soon, after the exam on Wednesday or before, depending on procrastination levels. :)

14 March, 2012

sunshine

SUNSHINE. The sun came out the play the other day, sucks I had to stay in and study (and indulge in self-made berry ice cream). Uni is no fun ever at the moment, but 1/3 exams out of the way and the first one went good, fo sho got my business law nerd on. Two more exams and then off to Switzerland I go. Chooo chooo. Not actually travelling by train, but no other sound effect for travelling came to mind. Happy Wednesday!

05 March, 2012

sushi break

SUSHI BREAK. Just a quick post with a photo taken yesterday during a little sushi feast. Serious Monday blues today, exams are coming up next week, hence the lack of posts and the unenthusiastic tone underlying this post. Though I'm glad this trimester is coming to an end, I cannot believe that means only a couple more months until graduation. I wish I could say how exciting this all is, but truth be told, all I can think about it getting through exam week (and kicking up my heels in Switzerland :)). Off to uni now, happy Monday!

26 February, 2012

resurface

RESURFACE. Tada, I'm back! With the Law and Business Information Management mid-terms out of the way, I shortly am resurfacing only to have to crawl back into piles and piles of Human Resource Management. Mid-terms placed two weeks before the exam, more than 2 months into the trimester, makes sense... And explain the puffy, dark circles around my eyes. Still, I'm all smiles, the light at the end of the tunnel: flights to Switzerland are booked, 22-25 March, sing hallelujah! Here are some pictures taken over the last few days, right after Law horror I dived into whipping up a meal and then went to a house warming party and Rotterlin. Hope everyone had a splendid weekend too, happy Sunday, thanks for reading. :)

18 February, 2012

bazar

BAZAR. Dinner on Witte de Withstraat, it's a very arsty fartsy hipster area of Rotterdam, one of my favorite places to stroll through, although I hardly ever get the chance to do, maybe why I still find it exciting every. single. time. I go there. I jump at any chance I get to have lamb, as you might as guessed from this post, so naturally Royal Persian Lamb is my absolute favorite. Every time I go to Bazar I fall into the most sensational food coma. And service always manages to spill something on poor boyfriend of mine. Oh well, you can't have it all, now can you?

17 February, 2012

surroundings: new apartment

SURROUNDINGS: NEW APARTMENT. What to do at 9 in the morning to avoid having to cram Business Law into what seems like a hollow skull? Why, pretend to be artsy by DSLR photograph the whole apartment, of course.

dudok

DUDOK. Mid-day feast, classy.

15 February, 2012

the last few days...

THE LAST FEW DAYS. What I've been up to. In a nutshell: eating excessively and catching up with friends, like Franziskus, who I girl scout promise is capable of cracking a smile consistent of more than merely lifting the corners of his mouth. :) he's one of the first friends I made here in Rotterdam. Apart from that, I've just been braving the cold and am ecstatic to announce that it was +5 degrees today, hurray! It's amazing how your standards in terms of "good weather" can go down the drain.

14 February, 2012

happy valentine's day

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY. Munching on some valentine's day goodies while romantically working on a case analysis. But no, university, you shall not rain on my parade, one more page and then I'm off to valentine's day dinner, yippeee.

13 February, 2012

weekend family fun

WEEKEND FAMILY FUN. + le boyfriend of course. :) excuse the horrible photo quality, the berry of black definitely does not thrive on dim lighting. Anywho, we moved some of my personal belongings into the new apartment, so finally my outfits are not restricted to the 5 pieces of clothing I brought in my mini-suitcase a gazillion weeks ago (it's been a fashion nightmare). Saturday night we went to Very Italian Pizza, I have fallen madly in love with the lasagna. Sunday lazy breakfast at Bagels & Beans, pomodoro bagels, me gusta. Then it snowed a wee bit. Then all the snow melted. Adieu minus degrees? Please let it be.

10 February, 2012

de bonte koe

DE BONTE KOE. This is what you look like after biking when its -10 degrees outside and ducks become jesus-like and decide to walk on water. Hot chocolate with a chocolate spoon, so appropriate.

09 February, 2012

the naked chef

THE NAKED CHEF. Ha! I totally forgot about these pictures, and am now of course overjoyed that I have something new to post, hipp, hipp, hurray! One of the great things about Rotterdam is that it's so close to home to Schermani, which is especially nice when I get sick of the limited repertoire of dishes that I am able to successfully cook (bolognese, curry, chilli con carne, boring, boring, boring...). Surprisingly, baby Michael has learnt to make amazing steak with potatoes, which now makes going home for the weekend even more attractive. :) he won't be amused that I am posting these nude shots, but they amuse me too much to not post! I wonder if he'll still make me steak and potatoes when I go home this Friday.... :)

07 February, 2012

give me sun

GIVE ME SUN. Received this picture in the mail yesterday, looked out the window, and sighed... Mother nature, have mercy, -14 today, biking = death.

life

LIFE. Things are so busy here at the moment, I cannot remember ever having so many deadlines, tests and such a crazy workload before. I also never remember it ever being so cold - it snowed Friday for a couple of hours and the snow still hasn't melted... I hate the cold, but I love waking up to a winter wonderland outside my window (and the pretty tulips le boyfriend got me :)). As I write this, I release the most intense yawn of my life, I have the longest day behind me, bed time it is!

03 February, 2012

drink green

DRINK GREEN. So, so sorry for the lack of posts lately. First I was busy finding an apartment and then moving in, now I'm absolutely swamped with university with a deadline and mid-term coming up this Monday and a deadline the following Wednesday. Somebody give me some space to breath por favor? In an attempt to act like a social human being I stopped by to support my former SIFE project, Drink Green, on Tuesday. Apart from that, nothing exciting has happened, which is just swell.....Oh uni, give me my life back... And extreme cold in Europe, let me feel my toes again. Half-frozen thumbs down to -7 degrees.
