MALAY VILLAGE. After chili crab feast-time was over, we headed to Malay Village to rummage around at what felt like a never-ending local market. The offers ranged from useless to extremely useless, except for of course my little bargains - nailpolish for S$1.50 (0.80 Euros) and 10 hair ties and 20 bobby pins for S$2 (1.20 Euros). Win. Casually testing my nail polish in front of 7Eleven, why not? Only regret: not owning an iPhone. Damn you extremely cute panda iPhone case and lack of panda Blackberry cases. There were even cute bunny ones with ears poking over the top and furry tails in the back... Le sigh.

happy birthday ddt
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DDT. I find it perfectly normal to dedicate a little girls' show song to my adult brother.
I'll pick up dandelions and I'll give them to you, puppy dogs kitty cats swimming through love.
Happy, happy birthday Daniel from Singapore! A material birthday gift will follow in December.
I hope you have an amazing birthday day and night and of course wish you all the best. ♥
(It's midnight in Singapore at the moment, but I will wait for it to be past midnight for you to post, since early birthday wishes bring bad luck)

chili crab and other yum yums
CHILI CRAB AND OTHER YUM YUMS. Basically the biggest fatso feast on earth. Joo San, Sabrina's local buddy, took us out to a huge food court to try one of Singapore's national dishes, chili crab, but it didn't stop just there. Rice, veggies, white pepper crab, stingray (!!!), dumpling-look-alike-thingies, ice kachang (100% not to my liking) and a very inappropriate looking fried banana (feels even more inappropriate to admit that it tastes amazing). Exclamation mark behind stingray is to highlight my amazement that I actually enjoyed it, probably because the spicyness overtoned any possible fishiness. Chili crab was amazing and so was white pepper crab, although it is always awkward to see your dinner jumping around alive in a cage prior to consumption. Sabrina and I thought we should dig in local style, so we were pulling and picking every little piece of crab we could get out of the shell with our hands and mouths (obese moment). I felt slightly ashamed when I looked over to Joo San, who ate her crab without using her hands even once...

asian civilization museum
ASIAN CIVILIZATION MUSEUM. Museum fun on a rainy Friday. Exhibitions included one on the terracotta army of the first Chinese emperor and a lot of artifacts from early South East Asian times. Unfortunately, the blog-unfriendly no flash policy has resulted in a huge collection of blurryness, but here are some of the less blurry ones. Enjoy.
